Character-to-product workflow
Four steps from concept to custom merchandise
- Create original artwork
Choose a saved character or series in Loriginary and create illustration or clean emblem art suitable for clothing or a poster.
- Export your design
Download a high-resolution PNG, preferably transparent where appropriate. Keep the underlying editable source if available.
- Open Printful Design Maker
Choose a product, upload the original artwork, position it in the print area, then save a reusable product template.
- Preview or order
Use Printful's mockups and product process. Printful controls manufacturing, payment, delivery and support.

Before choosing a product template
- Use artwork you own or have permission to commercialize.
- Export original art without web watermarks or UI screenshots.
- Use transparency for stand-alone emblems when useful; posters may need full-bleed backgrounds.
- Follow each Printful product's current print-area guidance.
- Preview small lettering and edge details at actual merchandise size.
- Use the provider’s design and mockup tools rather than assuming Loriginary can place an order.

Gradient-capable embroidery for character emblems
Printful's unlimited-color embroidery can render gradients and detailed designs using specially dyed thread. That may suit small, readable character emblems or short color transitions; dense full comic panels may still reproduce poorly at embroidery scale.
Printful currently describes an extra $3.95 per unlimited-color embroidered product relative to the base product in its help article. Pricing, eligible products, design limits, digitization and shipping charges may change; always check the actual product quote before offering a campaign reward.
In an October 2026 partner notice, Printful also described a $0.40 per US order holiday surcharge for October 15, 2026 through January 17, 2027. This is an informational email notice, not a live price guarantee. Confirm it in the Printful dashboard when pricing orders.

Useful lessons from Printful's affiliate email
Use the official Printful learning and brand-rule resources to make practical, original tutorials: explain your own comic character-to-product workflow, show real previews, compare total unit costs, and disclose referrals beside the link. Another affiliate's success story is an example, not proof of likely income.
Low-cost tutorial idea
Show one original character design, a transparent artwork export, the upload process, mockup, final landed cost, and whether your intended buyer would actually pay that amount. You do not need to buy ads or inventory to produce the initial educational content.
Advertising guardrails
Do not bid on Printful's branded PPC search keywords or direct paid traffic straight to its affiliate link. Follow Printful's current promotional guidelines, and use only permitted provider logos in their authorized form. Affiliate purchases by the referrer do not qualify.
What Printful is NOT
Primarily a merchandise POD provider, not a substitute for specialty comic book printing. Compare Ka-Blam, Mixam and Lulu when the end product is a saddle-stitched comic.
